I watched this documentary today which really made think a lot more about Alcohol and what it can do to a person when it is drunk in extreme circumstances.

The documentary was by Paul Watson, and called “Rain in My Heart” (2006). It was about 4 people from Gillingham in Kent, who suffered from Alcoholism. The documentary looked at these 4 people from the hospital that they were admitted to. They weren’t just the usual bung drinker, they were drinking about 2 bottles of vodka a night for example. Two out of the 4 die in the documentary.

The documentary kept making me question whether I should feel sorry for these people who were addicted to the drink for many different reasons. To be honest by the end of the documentary I left more sorry for the people who are trying to look after these people, the friends, the parent or the partner.

There were to key parts of the documentary, which made me feel so low and sad. Firstly there was one guy who was having liver troubles, he hadn’t drunk for about 8 years but died due to what he did. His wife loved him soo much and cared for him to the extreme, she was there with him, always being positive. When you were showed his funeral with his wife in tears, I had almost burst into tears myself.

The second most memorable point was watching one guy down tumblers full of red wine and then throwing them back up about 3 minutes after. It was shocking viewing and did put me off alcohol.

The whole thing just made me think about my friends and university life. People go out a drink all the time and get waisted, its when your friend cant go a day without a drink, or has to get really pissed every time you go out. It really made me think…

I would say watch this documentary and remember it. Tell your friends who may b worrying you. It might scares them and make them realise before its to late.

What a New Years eve that was…..even though I was working I had an amazing night! I was in fancy dress, I was dancing behind the bar, two of my best uni mates were Djing it was soooo much better than previous years have been! Feeling a bit hung over today and ive only just got up as I didn’t leave work till 4 (we probably stopped working at half 2). It was good my work mates are great anyway but it was really nice to spend new year with them. My boss also let her hair down to and we had an amazing night I did a lot of dancing!

Here is a link some some pictures of New Year around the world!

Right well as its this time of year its time to make some resolutions for the year ahead:

To blog more – I know I started blogging about a year ago but it was in the summer of 2006 where I really started to get the feel for it. In the last couple of weeks I have blogged a lot more and this will continue!

More Painting! – I’ve got my creative flare back last year and painting is something I love, im more of a graphic painter…look at my flickr to see some of my stuff!

Improve my photography – I took loads of photos last year as it is but im going to continue it..should be getting an old skool SLR soon to. So ive decided to take part in http://www.photojojo.com/content/tutorials/project-365-take-a-photo-a-day/ where I will take a photo everyday for a year! Found out about it from a blog and was inspired by Taylor McKnight who did it in 2004. So my mates be warned you will be apart of it to! Its going to be a great record of 2007!

To be less shy and more confident and try new things

To travel more… I really need to see more of this world!

To buy more music! – as shown 2006 was my year of music and 2007 is going to be even better check out my previous blog for more details.

Keep in contact with people more – I do phone and text people and when im back in Kent I try and see as many people as possible! But I want to email people more and keep in contact that way….including my family who I know are really important…cousins, uncle aunts, grandma and second cousins included!

There are probably some more but I cant think of them right now with this hangover!

Anyway have a great day and Happy New year to Every one out there!

Right bare with me……im announcing that I am classing 2006 as my year of music!

For me this year has been amazing on the music scene, I have never bought sooo many albums…from the shops and downloads. There is loads of really good songs out there at the moment. Not really all form the Charts (as they really don’t matter anymore!)

New Bands:
This has been my favourite music this year…there have been soo many new bands and artists on the music scene. This might have been through myspace or the fact that radio stations and companies seem to be more receptive of new bands! Here are some of my Recommendations from 2006:

Panic! At the Disco – they say this is emo but I love it! (my first album off iTunes)
Lilly Allen
Boy Kill Boy
The Fratellis
The Kooks – what an amzing debut album and from brighton to!

The Editors
Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly – cant believe this is one guy.
Paulo Nutini
James Morrison
Guillimots

We Are Scientists – What an amazing band..i predict they will be around for longer than you think
Wolfmother – Baught this for my dad for Christmas…love it though!
