I think tonight I have watched a little piece of Television History…..as Davina McCall suggested, one of the biggest weeks in the History of Big Brother!
At roughly 2130 on the 19th January 2007, Jade Goody was evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house for a second time (she was evicted the first time before she became a “celebrity”? about 4 years ago). Not just a normal eviction night though, one where there was no crowd and one where this could be the definitive end of s her career.
This week has been controvertible, not new for any Big Brother series if you know the history. This week though the controversy has hit international status! With events in the house being discussed in the Political Sphere at the House of Parliament as well as being discussed in India, where (un)luckily the soon to be Prime minister Gordon Brown is.
The topic discussed has been about alleged “Racism” against Bollywood Actress Shilpa Shetty. There is belief that Jade Goody and the rest of the housemate have been bullying Shilpa because of her culture.
It has all gone up to the extreme I think, yes there were a few comments made. But unfortunately they happen in the world. There hasn’t really been any active racism where she has been outcast because of who she (Shilpa) is, violence etc that unfortunately still happen in this world.
Endemol has dealt with this situation really well, there is no crowd at tonight’s eviction. The broadcast edition has been showing how they have dealt with the situation and how Jade and Shilpa have together sorted out the situation between them and apologised. How fair can you get…I think they have sorted it very positively.
My only hope is that it doesn’t escalate to more than it should do…it has been sorted….hopefully the current hype will calm down. I also hope that for once every journalist out there will treat this situation fairly before judging it….
Let me just start by saying that I am a ‘mac man’. I own an ibook G4 and an iPod and love them both. Ive been following the mac world for about 3 years now and have to say that i am a bit of a geek when it comes to Apple gadgets and Gizmos…
So as you all would have read Apple Inc (Previosly Apple Computers Inc) yesterday realsed TWO new produts on the world. The iPhone and the Apple TV box. These two gagets are great. The Apple TV Box demonstrates that computer are becoming the central hub for home entertainment. The iPhone is another great gadget, takes everything that you need and put it in your pocket! i really want one of these but there is a snag….with them both!
I live in the UK, where iTunes only sells music and music videos! so both these products are going to be useless in the UK market untill iTunes starts selling tv shows and one day maybe films? As far as i know Apple Inc has no plans to sell in these in the UK anytime soon…
For years i have been watching Apple bring all these brilliant things to the US and am now getting a bit annoyed that the UK is STILL behind!
I know in the sense of broadcasting the Uk is roughly 2 years behind the States in regard to the use of media technologies!
In the UK we can use IPTV…but as usual i come across the same statement…ONLY AVALIBLE ON WINDOWS PC’S..grrrr
im a bit bored of being peanalised for getting a Mac!!!!! the better machine!
Enough with the Rant..
I wish Apple Inc all the luck in the world with there products…just dont forget about us in the UK!!!!!
This week has flown by, just over a week ago I was at home in Kent with my parents, family and friends. At the moment I’m sitting at my desk in Falmouth recovering from a massive Chinese dinner!
The last couple of days has been quite interesting. My housemates have just started to come back to Falmouth. Anna came back yesterday and Jenna came back today. Its nice to the house full of people again. It was nice to live on my own for a couple of days but because I was at work a lot I didn’t really get enough time to chill out really. I did start talking to myself though!
Project 365 is getting better and better. As I explained on Monday I am taking a photo everyday for a year and documenting what that day represents in a photo. Its been good fun trying to things to take pictures of. If you look at the photos so far you can see that they are not that complicated. Hopefully my photography will improve over the next year…have a look at them and more on my flickr.
I had a nice day in Tuesday, when I decided to go into Falmouth and take some photos from a spot that I had never been to before. My camera ran out of battery but I went a bought a copy of NME and spent another hour in a little café with a cup of hot chocolate!
I’ve been buying a lot of things this week. Trying to make the most of the January sales, but not in clothes but in DVD and CD’s. I’ve also bought a really nice printer as my old one went bust back in may. This one has a scanner so its soo cool! I think that’s all the money I am going to spend for a while….I also bought a really cheap DVD player to (£17.97 barginus!)!
Television has also played a major part, I’ve recorded some land mark moments on television which has been nice and my VCR is finally coming in handy! But there was a sad moment as you can read in my previous blog…the OC is finishing after season 4…sob sob…it will be ok…load more television to get into!
This next week is going to be cool…being back at uni is going to be nice and seeing all my mates to!
As most of my mates would know i love the OC….(a bit girly i know but its great)
But i just got sent an article saying that Season 4 of the OC will the last!!! man it has been a great show…kept me hooked for years!
This is not from rumors but from Broadcast’s website! i know its tough in the US for television drama’s at the moment as audience ratings are the most important things and a whole season can be axed after only a couple of weeks!
Neway here is part of the article….
Fox and Warner Bros pull plug on The O.C
Teen soap The O.C. has been axed in the US. Fox TV and Warner Bros Television Production said in a joint statement that the fourth series, which starts today in the US, will be its last.
Ratings for the Fox show have tumbled in recent seasons, down to 3 million from a peak of over 10 million viewers in 2003, due to tough competition from other hit US shows such as CSI and Grey’s Anatomy.
In the UK, the final series will begin its eight-episode run on E4 next Tuesday at 9pm.
Show creator and executive producer Josh Schwartz said: “The O.C. season four finale will also be the series finale. This feels like the best time to bring the show to its close.
“It has been an amazing experience and a great run. For a certain audience, at a certain time, The O.C. has meant something. For that we are grateful.”
The show, which follows the lives of rich high-school kids in Orange County, California, has aired in more than 50 countries worldwide since its launch in 2003…..”
there are alot more good telly to come though……
What a New Years eve that was…..even though I was working I had an amazing night! I was in fancy dress, I was dancing behind the bar, two of my best uni mates were Djing it was soooo much better than previous years have been! Feeling a bit hung over today and ive only just got up as I didn’t leave work till 4 (we probably stopped working at half 2). It was good my work mates are great anyway but it was really nice to spend new year with them. My boss also let her hair down to and we had an amazing night I did a lot of dancing!
Here is a link some some pictures of New Year around the world!
Right well as its this time of year its time to make some resolutions for the year ahead:
To blog more – I know I started blogging about a year ago but it was in the summer of 2006 where I really started to get the feel for it. In the last couple of weeks I have blogged a lot more and this will continue!
More Painting! – I’ve got my creative flare back last year and painting is something I love, im more of a graphic painter…look at my flickr to see some of my stuff!
Improve my photography – I took loads of photos last year as it is but im going to continue it..should be getting an old skool SLR soon to. So ive decided to take part in http://www.photojojo.com/content/tutorials/project-365-take-a-photo-a-day/ where I will take a photo everyday for a year! Found out about it from a blog and was inspired by Taylor McKnight who did it in 2004. So my mates be warned you will be apart of it to! Its going to be a great record of 2007!
To be less shy and more confident and try new things
To travel more… I really need to see more of this world!
To buy more music! – as shown 2006 was my year of music and 2007 is going to be even better check out my previous blog for more details.
Keep in contact with people more – I do phone and text people and when im back in Kent I try and see as many people as possible! But I want to email people more and keep in contact that way….including my family who I know are really important…cousins, uncle aunts, grandma and second cousins included!
There are probably some more but I cant think of them right now with this hangover!
Anyway have a great day and Happy New year to Every one out there!

Today has been good end to my first week back in college!
Even though I woke up with a bit of a hangover, and had to do some Uni work, I’ve also been able to relax.
For the first time I a while its been a beautiful day down here in Cornwall. The sun has been shinning and the skis have been blue. Its been cold but not as bad as it has been the last couple of weeks. I’m glad its cold instead of raining to be honest!
So as sort of tradition I went for a walk down the beach today. It was amazing. They’re where families walking and playing with their dogs, there was even a baptism. I love the sea anyway; I’ve always had like a spiritual call to the beach, its part of the reason that I came down to Cornwall for university. I’ve always wanted to live down by the sea…may be one day I will have a house there!
Its been a good week to, I went to see Pan Labyrinth the other day which was a great film, very scary in places and completely not what I was expecting, it’s a great film but don’t go and see it expecting it to be a fairy tale!
Hope this week will be great to…
Project 365 is going well…go to my flickr and have a look at the past two weeks!
